# XDP

## XDP

XDP is the native utility and governance token of Doppler Finance.

The token is designed to support protocol participation, ecosystem incentives, and future governance-approved functionality across the Doppler ecosystem.

Users may hold/stake XDP and opt into specific utilities.

XDP may be used to:

* access selected **protocol privileges**
* participate in future **Safety Module pools**
* participate in **protocol-level governance**
* qualify for future governance-approved utilities.

**Protocol Privileges**

Protocol Privileges are expected to be the initial Day 1 staking utility.

Users who stake XDP may become eligible for selected protocol benefits, including:

* access to advanced vaults or strategies;
* priority access to new vaults, strategies, or features;
* eligibility for selected campaigns or ecosystem programs;
* differentiated benefits across future Doppler ecosystem features.

**Safety Module**

The Safety Module is expected to launch in a future phase.

Users may opt to allocate staked XDP into designated Safety Module pools. These pools are intended to provide risk coverage for eligible Doppler products, vaults, strategies, or protocol-level shortfall events.

Safety Module participants may receive XDP incentives as compensation for accepting defined risk exposure, including potential slashing.

**Governance**

XDP supports the long-term evolution of the Doppler protocol and XDP holders may participate, subject to governance implementation..

Governance may cover:

* staking utility parameters;
* Protocol Privilege requirements;
* Safety Module parameters;
* incentive budget allocation;
* eligible products, vaults, and programs;
* ecosystem program parameters;
* future protocol utilities.

Treasury-directed token operations, including potential market-based XDP acquisitions, may be considered in future phases subject to governance approval and operational requirements.
