What is XRPfi?

XRPfi refers to a set of on-chain DeFi activities built around XRP. Among these, Doppler Finance focuses on providing diverse opportunities to generate yield using XRP and assets within the XRPL ecosystem.

Just as the Bitcoin ecosystem has created yield opportunities for BTC depositors through CeDeFi and DeFi structures, Doppler Finance is exploring numerous options to generate yield with XRP. Starting with these initiatives, Doppler Finance aims to enhance XRP's on-chain utility and establish a framework for earning yield with XRP on-chain.

In the long term, the goal is to solidify XRP's utility within the XRPL on-chain ecosystem, positioning it as one of the core on-chain assets in the Web3 space.

Why XRPfi?

XRP holds a significant position in the cryptocurrency market. As of January 2025, it ranks as the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, following BTC and ETH. It consistently maintains a top-five position in terms of trading volume on centralized exchanges and ranks 2nd or 3rd in the number of holders in APAC market. XRP remains one of the few assets in the cryptocurrency market that continues to demonstrate enduring value in terms of both scale and demand.

While XRP has established a solid position as a cryptocurrency, its primary utility has largely been limited to remittances. Consequently, unlike assets such as ETH and SOL, which are extensively utilized on-chain, most XRP remains idle in centralized exchanges.

The XRP community is now actively preparing to activate its on-chain ecosystem. AMM DEX pools are already processing swaps on-chain, and the launch of XRPL-native lending features is on the horizon. As the number of use cases for XRP within the XRPL on-chain ecosystem continues to grow, its utility is expected to expand significantly. In the ever-evolving XRPL DeFi ecosystem, XRP’s role will become increasingly important, and opportunities to generate on-chain revenue through XRP are anticipated to multiply.
